Aurora-2 provides continuous measurements of the solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field from the Sun–Earth L1 region. Its real-time stream is the upstream warning source for national space-weather services.
The mission carries plasma, field and energetic-particle instruments with redundant communications paths to the Farpoint and coastal ground networks.
LATEST OPERATIONAL UPDATE
Aurora-2 returned complete observations of the 29 May 2026 interplanetary shock and geomagnetic storm.
