ANSA has completed the final full-duration integrated mission simulation for ALEP 15, bringing the crew, flight controllers and engineering support teams through a continuous 96-hour operational sequence. The exercise connected the Resolve spacecraft simulator, Dawn lunar-lander simulator, surface systems laboratory and the red and blue flight-control rooms at Arden.
The scenario began six hours before a simulated lunar-orbit rendezvous and continued through docking, descent preparation and two surface traverses. Controllers introduced a 43-minute loss of high-rate communications during the second traverse and a subsequent lander thermal-control fault. The crew used delayed procedures, local navigation and pre-authorized mission rules until communications were restored.
A final sequence tested an expedited departure from the surface following a simulated degradation in the lander ascent-battery cooling loop. The surface crew returned to Dawn, configured the cabin and completed the launch decision sequence within the certified contingency timeline. Resolve then performed rendezvous and recovery procedures in lunar orbit.
The simulation generated 184 formal observations. None was classified as a constraint to flight. Eleven procedural changes and three software-display changes will be closed before the Flight Readiness Review. The crew will now enter a reduced-training period focused on medical maintenance, final equipment fit checks and mission-specific scientific review.
