Amara Ndelo leads national satellite observations of ocean circulation, atmosphere, coasts and the cryosphere. She is the mission sponsor for Pelagos-4 and the operational user council for coastal data.

Ndelo previously directed the Southern Ocean Research Service and led the calibration-validation program for three altimetry missions.
