Chen Xiaoxuan is the ALEP 15 lunar-systems pilot and surface science lead. She will operate the Dawn lander during descent and ascent and direct field documentation, sampling and instrument deployment.

Before astronaut selection, Chen mapped lunar polar terrain and led analog field campaigns for volatile-preserving sample operations.
