Dario Velen maintains deep-space command, radiometric navigation and contingency communications for lunar and planetary missions. He is accountable for Farpoint service availability and spectrum coordination.

Velen previously served as network operations manager and led the installation and acceptance of Ainare's 70-m deep-space antenna.
