Lunar-orbit operations

Directorate: ALEP 15 Crew

Lei Xiao is the Vela pilot for ALEP 15 and will remain in lunar orbit during the surface expedition. He is responsible for Resolve systems, rendezvous and the contingency recovery of the surface crew.

Lei flew more than 2,400 hours in research and operational aircraft before astronaut selection and served as backup pilot for ALEP 14.
